Murgon is located 50kms north of Kingaroy and 100kms west of Gympie. Murgon is the principal town in the Parish with a population of 3,700 and around 1,100 Catholics. The town hosts a major meatworks and saleyards, banking, commercial CBD, schools and hospital. Murgon is the hub town in the region of small crop farmers.
